We attend competitions and host exhibitions every year. We participate in fundraisers, community service events, and socials, so there is always something fun to do with your fellow club members. Here is some basic information on upcoming events.

The Midwestern Collegiate Conference holds three competitions almost every year. We generally participate in the latter two, usually during winter quarter. Participation is not mandatory, but we have lots of fun! Competitive collegiate events generally include single freestyle, solo dance, team maneuvers, synchronized skating, and compulsories.

The second clinic and tryout will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 7:00-10:00 pm. The team is open to all post-secondary, part-time, full-time, and graduate students of The Ohio State University. We are honored to have Megan Elasky as our coach! The OSU ice rink allows us to host exhibitions, providing us with excellent practice for competitions, lots of fun, and time for friends and family to see our progress and talents! Exhibition performances are not mandatory. Our annual ice show is held during spring quarter. Join us for our next show, and ask about being a part of the ice show committee!

We try hard to find opportunities for our skaters to fundraise money to help pay for club expenses. Every member is responsible for completing one fundraiser per quarter. Funds in excess of $40 per quarter will be credited to the skater’s account to be used for his/her individual skating expenses. Skaters who sign up for events are required to attend. In the case of an absence, skaters are required to notify the fundraising chair one week in advance and find a replacement volunteer to cover the event. Keep your ears open to find out when our next learn-to-skate fundraiser will be. We will be selling synchronized skating t-shirts and pins throughout the quarter as well.
