The OSU Synchronized Skating Team competed at the Porter Classic in Michigan and placed 8th out of 10 teams. The team is off to a very good start for our first time competing!

The OSU Figure Skating Club is joining forcing with the Columbus Figure Skating Club to offer more ice options for our collegiate members. The deadline for contracting early morning weekday ice during the school year and receiving the newly offered collegiate OSU FSC member discount is Wednesday, October 1st. Come join the OSU Figure Skating Club for our first night of club ice and our first club meeting on Tuesday, Sepetember 30th. The meeting will take place at 8:30, directly following club ice. Practices will be every Tuesday, except finals week, from 7:15-8:30 pm at the OSU Ice Rink. Ice Rink directions and applications can be found here. Come support the OSU Figure Skating Club at the Involvement Fair on Monday, September 22nd from 11:00-3:30. We will be recruiting for new members all day. Visit our booth for more information or join the recruiting team behind the table to promote our club. Tune in to the Scarlet and Gray Sports Radio every Saturday to listen to a live broadcast of all the OSU Football games and to listen for our Club Commercial.

The date of try-outs for the OSU Synchronized Skating Team is Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 5:45-7:45 pm. It is open to all post-secondary, part-tim, full-time and graduate students of The Ohio State University. We are honored to have Megan Elasky as our coach! Individuals must register Monday through Wednesday 9:00a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the program registration window AT THE RPAC in order to take part in the team draft. The team draft for D league players is Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Drafts last from 10:00p.m. until midnight. Ice Hockey Registration is $30 per person. This does not include skate rental, which is $2.00 per game or you can buy a skate pass for $8.00. Equipment is provided for free. You need you buckid for registration and the draft, and you must be present at both sign-ups. We will meet around 8:30 or 9:00 pm on Wednesday in the basement of the RPAC (which is where sign-ups are) so we can get a good time slot.

Feeling achy? Did you know that an athletic trainer is available every weekday afternoon Monday-Friday 3:00-5:00 pm to help sport club participants recover from injuries and other physical ailments? Stop in and see Ray Eshenaur on the west side of the Tom W. Davis Special Events Gym in the RPAC.

For those who registered through the OSUFSC this year, their USFSA cards should be mailed to their designated home addresses in February.
